Easter, Jesus is ALIVE!

What an awesome day to celebrate! When I stop and think about what this holiday is really about, it's heart wrenching. Just think about all that Jesus went through, the pain and suffering, the ridicule....all for us??? As undeserving as we are? I'm in awe every time I think about it! I pray that God gives me the right words to teach my children what these holidays are REALLY about!

We celebrated with an egg hunt at the lodge first on Saturday morning. It was a little chilly and a complete madhouse.

Nathan, Levi, Braeden and Hannah.

They were supposed to let the little ones go first. They did, but all of like 30 seconds. We hardly even got to the front of the crowd before they let the big kids go. I don't like crowds, I don't push and shove my way through....I just don't think ANYTHING is THAAAAAAT exciting. Levi's always a little timid in these situations so we really had to push him to hurry and get some eggs. It was a little disappointing, I think they might should have two separate areas. Those kids that are 8, 9, 10 will run you over if you're in the way of their candy. Totally not fair to the little ones.

We did get to snag a pic with the Easter Bunny! I didn't even do Easter baskets for them, so we didn't really talk about the Easter Bunny at all. I kind of decided that I don't want to tell them the "bunny" brought them presents. I'd rather it just be from Mom and Dad. Not that I'm against it, I'm just not really feeling it. I did buy them some ADORABLE hooded towels for summer though.

Then we headed over to Nana and Grandpa's to hunt some more eggs.

This was more their speed. Hannah and Levi hunted in the front and Nathan, Braeden and Kirsten (a friend from church) hunted in the back.

I snapped this picture because Hannah wanted to ride on the back of the golf cart and Steve was a little hesitant. Well they hopped up there and Nathan put her arm around her and told her to hold on. It was the sweetest little nurturing gesture!

Easter Sunday we had lunch at Nana and Grandpa's. The boys ended up not getting to go to Sunday school b/c somebody didn't show up for work and Easter Sunday is super busy at Chicken E. They met us at Nana's later.

He always gets a sticker in his Sunday school class so I love to ask him what it says and hear his sweet little answers! That's what's on his shirt.

And our cute little Angel baby! Her personality is really shining through now and I just LOVE it!

I am forever grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for me!!! Jesus is ALIVE! (We taught Levi to yell that. :) Cutest thing ever!!!)
