Chloe's one month checkup

We drove to Houston Tuesday night to take Chloe to our pediatrician. I adore him and my insurance is good through the end of August so I decided to take her there through her 2 month checkup.

She weighs 8 lb 6 oz and is 21 inches long. Shes still pretty tiny but since I had supply issues and had her weighed she's gained 13 oz in 12 days and that's right where the gain should be. She just has some catching up to do! He also says she has true colic. Great! We are just praying we fall into the weeks category and not months!

She's really started to grin at us! I was trying to catch a picture here but it didn't quite happen!

Baaaaar

So this post is strictly for me to remember things... But you might find it entertaining.

Levi calls water "bar." all water, water to drink (and drinks that aren't really water) the lAke, a pond, a pool, fountain...you get the picture. It's hilarious! It's long and drawn out like baaaaaarl!

He pretty much tries to say anything, most of it sounds nothing like the real word, but he tries!

He loves chloe! When she fusses he will give her the Paci. After he did this once in front of my parents and they clapped for him, he started taking it away from her to get us to clap for him. Haha, he's quit that now luckily. Can't teach selfishness!

He will blow kisses now, say "night night" give hugs and kisses to everyone when we leave somewhere.

He loves golf cart rides!!

Hes also learned "no." it started by me telling him to tell gunner no, and turned into telling us no! Needless to say we are having to have some serious chats with him about that!

He is constantly getting in trouble for playing in the dog food. He will go get a piece and try to make gunner eat it. Or when hes gotten in enough trouble... He'll just try to sit on him while he eats.

He knows lots of body parts now. My 2 faves are mouth (where he wiggles his tongue at you) and fingers (he wiggles his fingers in the air.)

After watching the home run derby with daddy a couple of weeks ago he started swinging his air bat. Trent started saying "BOOOOM" so now he yells boom while swinging his bats (air or real :)) pretty funny!

He still says hi and bye to everyone. I'm sure he'll be known by all the golfers here soon because he yells hi at them after they finish up hole number 15.

I could go on forever, he's hilarious!

And now to miss priss... Otherwise known as Chloe! I finally feel like I'm getting to know her after a month. She's happiest in the morning, just like her big brother was. Yesterday she finally had a day where she actually did the eat, wake, sleep pattern. For those of you not familiar with it, I swear that's the secret to a good sleeper. That along with a consistent schedule. I haven't been to focused on a schedule yet because I need to make sure she's gaining an appropriate amount of weight first.

She's actually ok with tummy time for a little while!

She will lay in her bed and fall asleep on her own about 75% of the time. Sometimes she needs us to pick her u and calm her down still. She's doing really well at night though! I wake her up to eat around 11, then she wakes up around 4 to eat, then back to sleep until 7 or 8. At first I was very nervous because I found myself putting her in bed with us when she wouldn't go to sleep. It's much different with the 2nd because I felt like I needed sleep so much more! Whether Chloe was awake or not, come 8 o'clock Levi is up and ready for the day!! She's doing much better at night though!

She likes to be held over the shoulder. And she has a witching hour. And during that witching hour don't you DARE hold her any other way!

She's started grinning at us now! I forgot how much better that makes everything!

Random...

This post is in no particular order. I've been meaning to blog forever, but ya know...I'm kind of busy these days! 2 kids under 2 is no joke people. But, I feel like we're settling in. Our little Diva has has a good day today, those have been pretty rare, so today I feel settled in. That will probably change tomorrow. :)

Here is Levi licking the jelly off his biscuit...smart boy.
This is on Chloe's one month birthday! Hard to believe it's already been a whole month. I took her to be weighed a couple of weeks ago because my milk supply for some reason tanked. She wasn't gaining enough to make me comfortable (I say "me" because I'm still taking her to our pediatrician in Houston so I just wanted to make sure she was getting enough.) I decided to start supplementing with a little formula. Well that was making the poor thing constipated...she was MISERABLE for a couple of days. I think I've gotten my supply back up so no more bottles for her until we see Dr. Clarke next week!
And these sweet cheeks just keep me laughing allllll the time. He LOVES our new back yard and begs to go out there all the time!

Here's a comparison of the 2 of them at one month old. Chloe wanted to eat her fingers so it's hard to see the comparison of their mouths. I don't think Chloe looks as much like either me or Trent as Levi did.
 Here's our new view...
Levi and I entertained ourselves with some buckets and spoons of water one day. Oh the little things.
And here's tiny miss priss in her beautiful bed. This was a couple of weeks ago.
This big boy picked up an apple and just started munching down! He ate half of it like that! I still always cut up his apples, but he wanted to eat it like a big boy.

This one is just for Landon! Diana, please make sure you show him this fit face! Landon thinks Levi never throws fits.
We're getting close to being settled in our house, but there are still things to get organized. Levi helped Daddy finish putting together the book shelf for his room. I started it, but of course messed something up so the boys had to finish it.
That's all for now...Diva is screaming so I must go!

July 4th

Even though we were only about 50% unpacked and had no living room furniture, we decided to have everyone gather at our house for dinner on the 4th. This country little community is HOPPIN' on the 4th! It's an all day affair, starting with a golf cart parade. Everyone decorates their golf cart and drives through the community. Some were pretty clever! It's also a nice way to shop for carts. :) Since most people use them as transportation out here, there are some pimped out rides!

We invited Landon, Diana and Brielle up for the day and were SOOOOO thrilled that they came and hung out with us! Chloe was glad to meet her diva cousins!
Nathan and Braeden didn't get any candy of course....pshhhh!
Oh wait! There's a real car!
This was Levi's first "parade" and he was pretty skeptical about it. He was very seriously watching. We couldn't get him to go grab candy.
Sweet Chloe and her zoolander hair slept a lot! It was so hot but newborns just love that!
All these little loves!!! Levi (1.5) Braeden (5) Lucas (3 mo.) Nathan (7) Chloe (2 weeks) Brielle (2.5) Aren't they precious!!!
Next it was off to the lodge for some booths and lunch. Once again....very seriously watching it all!
After a good Levi nap, we headed down to the beach so the boys and Brielle could take a dip. I of course wanted nothing to do with a swimsuit, so the girls hung out in the shade. Another good nap for Chloe! Diana and I just chatted away....I just adore her!
 Playing in the sand!
Mimi got Levi some sweet patriotic swim trunks!!
Yes...we were college style, sitting in lawn chairs. Our furniture could only be delivered on the 5th! Just a day late! Jim and Susan joined us for dinner too. They are friends of my parents from forever ago. Like almost as old as me! They met them when I was 18 months old and have been friends ever since. They moved to Lake Kiowa last fall and my parents just love having them here. I do too...that Susan is a hoot! I look forward to rounds of golf with them...someday....when the kids are a little older. :)
Mr. Lucas! He's such a little man!! He has a lot of my dad's features, finally a blue eyed grandkid!
All the kids LOVED playing in the back yard! (Excuse the dead stripe of grass in the yard, it's from the plumbers tying our new laundry room into the septic system.)
The cook and the Gann's! I think Trent was the only one within a 3 mile radius not wearing festive clothes. :(
And last but not least was FIREWORKS! I wasn't sure what to expect, and when they started out just barely visible above the trees we were scared. They did not disappoint though! It was a wonderful fireworks show! Levi and his Tia Diana!

Chloe snoozing again...imagine that? Oops...we lost a sock!
 Gann girls! Beautimus!
Me and my girl! Levi was sucking his thumb with his blanket. It was way past his bed time and the loud noise scared him. He was such a trooper but was totally wiped out and pretty cranky the next day!

Welcome home!!

Friday the 29th we finally were set to make our final nomadic trip to our new home! It was the longest drive ever and I really hope the new mommy amnesia wipes that memory away from my brain....if I ever care...I can read about it here. What is a normal 4.5 - 5 hour drive took us over 7 HOURS! Well that's what happens when you have a newborn, a toddler, and 2 cars to drive. We had to stop every time it was time to feed Chloe and she was very much still in that sleepy newborn stage where she didn't even want to wake up to eat. People keep saying only my children have that problem, but it's been the hardest part with both of my babies! Ya gotta eat kid!

We finally made it to our new house! Here it is!! Nothing fancy and a BIG downsize for us....but the view from our back porch is a.m.a.z.i.n.g! I love it that as we sit out on our back porch swing in the evenings we sometimes see a golf cart full of 5 Nelsons playing the hole that you see from our house.

Chloe got all dressed up to meet her cousins and Uncle Steve and Aunt Kristie!
So far watching Levi have a blast with his cousins has been enough on it's own to make it all worth it! His eyes absolutely light up every time they come around. Here they are teaching him how to use their race track.
And this is our new mode of transportation. :) No need for a car around Lake Kiowa! For anyone who knows me well, you already know this is my favorite part! I pretty much dislike operating all motorized vehicles, but golf carts I can handle!
Check out her zoolander hair! The only time it doesn't do this is when it's dirty and greasy.

We had a nice surprise on Saturday when Trent's dad happened to be in Arlington so they decided to stop by on their way home!
 Finally a Coleman girl!
And here are our 3 babies :) Wow we are BLESSED! Levi is such a good big brother so far!!!
Levi stayed with Nana and Grandpa while me, Trent and Chloe went furniture shopping. It was so weird to actually have a baby sitter we trusted! I just love getting her all dressed up...I've been waiting MONTHS to put her in this sweet dress!!!
We also made our first grocery trip with 2 kids! We aren't used to doing our grocery shopping at Wal-mart so between giggling that we needed 2 carts and people watching, it was interesting!
Chloe didn't mind it much. :)
Our new boss (aka - Grandpa) was kind enough to give us a week to get settled so it's back to the grind for us tomorrow!! I'm hoping to attempt to get a schedule going that will allow our days to be more predictable. It's been a bit chaotic the last month! I know it will take me a while to figure out what works best for our little family but I know we'll get there!
