Chloe crawls....Levi's not so thrilled

I snapped this sweet photo one night while Trent was working. If he's gone at night (which is not very often) I try to send him a pic before bed time. I just love it when they both cuddle with me!

Levi is always wanting Chloe's puffs. A few days ago he decided just to help himself. I was putting my makeup on and he came in the bathroom and said "uh oh mom, puffs." I tried really hard not to laugh! I gave him a plate and told him to pick them all up so we could put them in the trash. Then he proceeded to put one on the plate, then 3 in his mouth, repeat. Hilarious, only because I know our floors are pretty clean!

And now she's finally on the move!!!

YouTube Video

She followed Levi around all day. Everything he'd play with, she wanted to play with too. Let's just say I said "Levi, we have to share with Chloe! We have to be kind!" about one million times today. Let the refereeing begin!! I should also add that he clapped and yelled for her when she would crawl to something we put out for her, just not when it was his toys. :)

He finally resorted to sitting in the toy box and playing trains on top of the subwoofer so she couldn't get them! Haha! Won't be long until she figures that out, she's already acting like she wants to pull up on things. She can't do it, but you can see her thinking it when she's next to the ottoman or when she crawls over to me while I'm in the floor.

Excuse the snot...but you can see her tooth that finally came through! (If someone asked me today what my occupation was, I probably would have said professional nose wiper.)

Why are babies so darn cute in the bathtub???

I really need to get her some girly bath tub toys so she doesn't have to play with Levi's cars! Ha!

It's all about ME!!! (dotmom 2013)

A few weeks ago, a blog that Diana introduced me to talked about Lifeway's dotmom conference which just so happened to be in Frisco. A place to gather with other moms and worship? Yes please! Sign me up! I don't get much "ME" time, and what better way to spend it than with a thousand other people who are in my same phase of life. They kept flashing these funny videos of moms "checking in" with their family. There were some firemen, trampolines, etc. The videos were promptly followed by "They'll survive, it's just a weekend!" ha! So perfect!

The devil most certainly did NOT want me to go to this. Trent and I were actually going to go to a concert Thursday night at Winstar, but I felt a little guilty for having my parents keep the kids Thursday night and then Friday too. God's mysterious ways at work.... Levi was having trouble breathing during the day so we were doing treatments every 4 hours, but it got worse. Not better. He did his typical puking from coughing so much. (I'm sure Nana and Grandpa are super grateful they didn't have to clean that up!) He needed treatments every 3 hours, he was coughing so much and screaming "mooooom." Ugh, it's the saddest thing in the world! He finally slept from about 12:30 that night until 5:30 when he was crying again. I was absolutely sick at my stomach leaving him when I wasn't sure he was well. But between 5:30 am and 9:30 am he did pretty good. So I forced myself to get in the car and go, I knew he was in good hands, it's just so hard to leave him when I'm worried! Especially with breathing issues. I had looked so forward to spending this time with Diana. (All that to say...I obviously forgot my good camera.)

It was an AMAZING weekend! AMAZING worship, AMAZING speakers, AMAZING breakout sessions, and a blast with Tia!!! It was so nice to just be able to be me, and drop the other hats for a few hours. And now there are like 10 books I want to buy....

Probably the two things that struck me the most are 1. I don't read my Bible enough, and my children need to see that I do. 2. Deuteronomy 6: 7-9 (after the 10 commandments have been given) "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

W.O.W. I always talk about how blessed we are to have these beautiful children, but I pray that God gives me the strength and wisdom to raise them in a way that is pleasing to Him. They're only mine to borrow from Him for 18 years and I hope that I can prepare them for the world we live in. We all know it's a scary place!

Saturday, Trent brought the kids down to hang out with Landon and Brielle and then they made us some delicious burgers! This is what happens at Daddy Daycare...

Aren't they cute in their matching shirts???

Levi and Chloe absolutely love playing with Brielle. It was really sweet to watch Chloe this time because she would follow them around wanting to see everything they did! AND....it's a REALLY great time for Levi and Brielle to practice their sharing with someone close in age! We all know 2-3 year olds need lots of practice with that!

Chloe is 8 months old!

I can't believe this beautiful little girl is 8 months old already!!

She still doesn't have any teeth, though she's got one that I think will be in before the weekend. She's had the two little white bumps on the two bottom teeth for a few weeks now.

She's so incredibly close to crawling it's scary! When we were on our way home from Amarillo last week, I told Trent we needed to drop her crib down because I was afraid she'd be able to sit up on her own soon. Monday we dropped it, by Wednesday she was pushing herself to sitting from laying! I heard her talking after I put her down for a nap and sure enough she was sitting up in her crib! She gets on all fours and then she sits back up. She lays on her tummy trying her best to go get something, she just hasn't quite figured it out yet!

We babbles a lot! I've been trying to coach her to say mamamamamama, but she usually says dadadadada. Go figure! Her little voice is so sweet!

Surprisingly enough, they were both very happy to take a picture this morning!

I remember when Levi was a baby he would lay on his back, pick his legs up in the air and then slam them down on his mattress. Well Chloe is the opposite, she lays on her tummy and kicks her little feet and it's just the sweetest little pitter patter!

She still adores her brother! Just look at how she looks at him. Sharing is getting even more difficult. The more mobile she gets, the more lessons in sharing we have. He's equally crazy about her though, just not when she's getting his cars. If she cries, he kisses her and tells her it's ok.

Last week was Valentine's Day. I'm not really too into this holiday this year, just seems pretty silly. But I helped Levi make some Valentines for his cousins.

They had their thumb prints and said "Thumb body loves you" on the other side. :)

Of course I had to get them a little something.

He couldn't wait to open those presents!!

This is just a sweet one of Chloe and Braeden after he put his hat on her.

And a couple of weeks ago I put Chloe's hair in her first pig tails! So sweet! (Really it's because I was finally treating her cradle cap. Because she had so much hair, it was so much worse than I though. I thought it was only in her hair line but boy was I wrong! The only way I could get it all was to part it in every different way so the cream would get to her scalp.)

We're taking poor Chloe back to the doctor tomorrow morning. Yesterday she started running a fever again, just a low one, but a fever none the less. She's super snotty again today and has had a tiny bit of goop in her eye. I feel like I call the doctor all the time, but since she was just on antibiotics last week they said it would be best if they checked her ears again.

I sure am ready for winter and all its illnesses to GO AWAY!

If ear infections are the biggest worry we have, we are incredibly blessed! Happy 8 months precious darlin'! We love you more than words could ever say!!

Happy Anniversary Grams & Pops!

Let me give some back story before I start this post.... Grams and Pops met Roy and Lyn 25 years ago on a tour in England. They own a coach and do tours for a living. TWENTY FIVE years later they are still friends and have seen each other every 2 years since! They take turns so they only have to do the big journey every 4 years. This was a very special trip because Roy and Lyn are celebrating 40 years of marriage and Grams and Pops are celebrating 50!!!!

We left out on Friday to head to Amarillo. On the agenda first was riding "Ax - O," Mimi's horse. (Trent says it sounds like the baby on Meet the Fockers saying "A$$ - hoooo. I'll let you figure that one out.) Either way....he gets very excited about riding Axle!

He put on the tiniest little helmet. :) Lyn was just eating up his cuteness...how could you not?

He was so relaxed this time! There were a couple of times they rode by and we thought he was going to fall asleep!

This is the cutest picture ever of Levi and Mimi!!!

Saturday morning Trent had baby duty while Carol, Tifanie and I ran around town getting last minute things ready for the party. Grammy didn't want a big ordeal, but we had to decorate!

We headed to Logan's for a big ole' family dinner.

You can't see it very well but Pops has on Roy's awesome English hat.

Levi and Brielle had a BLAST! (So much so that I think we had some major over stimulation. Levi flipped out about 30 minutes after he finally went to sleep that night and we had an awful night!) They were dancing, and running, and throwing their hands up in the air, and maybe a little spitting (by my boy of course...) and probably a few more things I'm not proud of. But oh. my. gosh. they LOVED playing with each other!!

I'm thinking Brent and Landon couldn't possibly have picked more beautiful women! I love them both so much!

And then there's those boys....I love them so much too!

Sister was a little leery of all the people she's not real familiar with. She HATED Uncle Jack's cowboy hat, she would scream when he would come talk to her! Which is funny because she loved him at Christmas.

I love it that Levi is actually smiling for the camera now!

Me and my girl!!

Chloe getting some English love...

How sweet is this? Levi walking with "Pots."

Then it was off to the party. Carol and Randy organized a karaoke night. This was our job, setting up the little table.

Randy kicked it off!

Getting some sweets from Mimi and Uncle Brent.

The most beautiful water I've ever seen!

I love that Diana said, "scoot back, I have to get your whole outfit!" Genius!! Shoes get jipped in picture a lot, not when Tia is taking pictures!

Here are the honorees....Roy and Lyn, Pops and Grams

Mimi loved showing off our two adorable kids.

Trent and Brent did NOT plan to dress alike....but look! Mimi had flashbacks of 26 years ago!

Herbert and his "beautiful baritone voice" (Grammy told him that a while back, haha) even got up there and sang his heart out! I did not...we made real fools of ourselves a couple of years ago with a duet we often sing at the top of our lungs in the car. I can't sing...I'm not in denial.

Landon showed off his skills.

Chloe hanging out with Aunt Carol. (If you haven't noticed, there are lots of Jacks and lots of Carols in this family!)

Grammy gave a speech about her beautiful family that made us all cry.

Chloe didn't get any attention at all. Especially not from her Tia.

Or Tifanie!

What a beautiful family!

Chloe loved my necklace (she's got great taste!)

Photo bomb!

This. is. my. life. A beautifully, blessed one. I could not possibly be anymore happy!!

Not only is he saying cheese for the camera, but he's clapping for himself afterwards now! (As well as when he counts, or puts puzzle together....he's picked up on how proud of him we are. :))

It was a wonderful weekend celebrating some wonderful people!
